Tennis Court Progress

Today, April 5, 2024, we begin the process of bring a wonderful new tennis/pickleball/basketball court to Emerald Pointe for our residents to enjoy this summer! The cost of this project is being fully funded by the association's Reserve Fund so there is no related increase in dues necessary.

This new project begins today starting with the demolition of the outer fence, followed by the removal of the existing concrete tennis court pad next week.  Please be aware heavy equipment will be in motion as the concrete is removed. Consequently, we ask everyone to please remain aware of this equipment and use caution while at the clubhouse.  Once the existing tennis court is removed and the contractor has an idea of what is needed to stabilize the ground beneath the concrete, we will have a better estimate of when the work will be completed.  Once we have that estimate, we will update everyone.

The geoengineer has inspected our tennis court site and approved both the site and the underlying base. He made some adjustments to the drainage that have been approved and accepted by the board. The concrete company has begun the process of installing the sidewalk, prepping the pad area and adjusting the drainage. Electric conduit has been placed. The concrete pad and sidewalks should be poured shortly and be complete before month-end. Our tennis equipment supplier will then install nets and related equipment and paint the court for both tennis and pickleball (this may be finished by month-end as well). A basketball hoop is also being installed, though there will be no lines painted for it.

Both the original fencing and the existing concrete pad have now been removed. A Geo Tech Engineer is coming next week to analyze the sub-surface to determine what, if anything, needs to be done to stabilize the underlying base.  Once this is known, work will begin on prepping the site for new concrete.
